BOOK WEEK To celebrate Book Week back in August, we asked libraries and schools to send us photos of what they got up to. Jo Edwards at Playford Library Service in South Australia sent us these hilarious photos showing the library staff really getting into the spirit of things. This is what Jo had to say: 'On Wednesday 25th August 2010 the library saw a parade which included fairies, witches, cowgirls, Paddington Bear, Minnie Mouse, The Queen of Hearts, Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, Big Bird, Har ry Potter characters, Batman, Shrek and many more making a special appearance for an extra special Book Week Story Time in the Elizabeth Library.' Who played these characters in the movie? 1. Hermione Granger, 'Harry Potter' series (2001) 2. Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat Pray Love (2010) 3 . Mr Darcy, Pride and Prejudice (2005) 4 . Libraries are full of wonderful resources -- obviously there are books to borrow -- but most also have online resources (including gr), book clubs, children's book reading sessions, author events and much more. There's a lot more to libraries these days than just sitting silently in a corner, so help us save these wonderful resources and visit your local library this month. Winona Ryder THE DARK TOWER Stephen King's 'Dark Tower' fantasy series is being adapted into a movie trilogy as well as a related TV series. The current plan is for a season of the TV show to follow on from the feature film, acting as a bridge between each movie. Ron Howard will direct the first of the three films as well as the first season of the television series. The currently unnamed cast will appear in both the film and television versions.
