From working title press Distributed by Penguin Group (Australia) Anna and Barbara Fienberg's exciting storytelling and Kim Gamble's fantastic illustrations bring children right into the action, as trouble brews for a newly arrived family whose lives are in danger. Tashi must save them, and as the story unfolds readers can help Tashi find the Baron's gold, bake Ah Chu's favourite fish cakes, unravel a tricky word puzzle and escape a maze. Kids can also make a diorama of Tashi's world, just the way they imagined it. They can work in teams to paint the background, glue in trees and bushes and then ar range the characters of the tale within the scene. Many of us have followed Tashi on his wild adventures, but in The Amazing Tashi Activity Book the adventure is not only Tashi’s – it’s ours too! what would Tashi do? Tashi’s World Diorama You’ll need a box with a lid (a shoebox is ideal), scissors, glue, pencils, paint, coloured cellophane. Ask an adult to help you with the scissors. 3. Cut out and paint trees and bushes, leaving tabs for glue. Allow to dry. 4. Paint the base of the box, allow to dry, then glue background in place. Use these ideas (or make up your own) to finish the diorama. Remember to leave tabs to glue the pieces in place. You might copy the figures from the Amazing Tashi Board Game to add more drama to your diorama! 5. Apply glue to tabs and attach trees and bushes. 6. Cut a window in the lid and glue a slightly larger sheet (or two) of cellophane inside. 1. Measure the sides and width of the box. Cut out an eye-hole. 2. Make a sheet of paper to fit inside the box and paint the diorama background. The Amazing Tashi Activity Book by Anna and Barbara Fienberg is published by Allen & Unwin, r rp $19.99.
